As football continues to grow at a rapid pace, 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for the latest talents to showcase their talents on the world stage. With the FIFA World Cup ahead, there is no better place for the hottest footballing stars to perform and captivate fans worldwide, potentially impacting live odds on sportsbook platforms. In recent years, fearless teenagers have lit up Europe’s top leagues, showing the world that if they are good enough, age is no barrier. The new wave of footballing youngsters is different, with new levels of skill and maturity that allow for a seamless transition from youth football to the biggest leagues in the world. The perception of youth talent has shifted significantly in recent years, with many managers placing greater trust in them than before.
Lennart Karl
Lennart Karl is one of the brightest talents in German football right now, who has made a notable name for himself at Bayern Munich in recent months. Operating as both an attacking midfielder and a winger from the right, Karl’s versatility is unique for his age. Aged just 17, Karl has already represented the German U21 national team, and if he continues his fine form in 2026, he could earn himself a FIFA World Cup call-up. Thus far in the 2025/26 season for Bayern Munich, Karl has become an important squad player, starting numerous games for the reigning champions, which is a credit considering his age.
With excellent balance and a low centre of gravity, Lennart Karl has incredible dribbling, which, paired with his electric speed, makes him a challenge for all defenders. Playing in attacking midfield, it is important that Lennart Karl can receive the ball on the half turn and connect play quickly, which is one of his greatest strengths. Either playing off the right or in the 10, Lennart Karl is a goal threat, with strong finishing in front of goal on his favoured left foot.
Geovany Quenda
After interest from numerous European top clubs, Geovany Quenda is set to join Chelsea F.C. in the summer of 2026. After joining Sporting CP in 2019, Quenda has risen through the ranks, impressing senior staff, and was quickly identified as one of the club’s brightest talents. To begin his career in professional football, Geovany Quenda operated as a right wing-back, which suited manager Ruben Amorim’s system well. Geovany Quenda etched his name in the Sporting CP record books, becoming the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer after hitting the net against rivals Porto. He quickly earned his place as a starter for Sporting in the Primera Liga, starting 26 games and making 34 appearances in total. As a reward for his performances in the league, Quenda was called up to the Portuguese national team for the first time, although he did not make his debut.
Typically operating from the right wing, Geovany Quenda boasts an incredible amount of technical ability and excels in one-on-one scenarios. His fast acceleration and agility are key to his playstyle, often beating players and driving inside to get onto his favoured left foot. What is rare for Quenda, given his age, is his decision-making: he often chooses the correct pass in the final third through instinct. In addition to his excellent attacking play, Quenda contributes defensively, with a high-pressure work rate and good positional awareness out of possession.
Said El Mala
Germany’s youth is in safe hands, with Karl as previously mentioned, and now Said El Mala, who is currently impressing in the Bundesliga for FC Koln. El Mala joined FC Köln in the summer of 2024, but, due to a transfer ban, could not join the club until the following season. He signed a contract with the Bundesliga side after joining from Viktoria Koln in the German third tier, where he was loaned back for a season as a result of FC Koln’s transfer ban. In this season, Said El Mala started 30 out of 32 games and became an instrumental player in their team. His favoured position is off the left wing, which is where he played for Viktoria Köln, and contributed with 13 goals in the league, an impressive tally for his first year as a professional in the sport. Since joining the FC Köln first team, he has quickly impressed, scoring a number of important goals. His impressive start to the 2025/26 season in the Bundesliga has attracted plenty of interest in the 19-year-old, with many top clubs in Europe keeping their tabs on the German winger.
The German left winger is one of the hottest talents in world football currently, boasting excellent ball control and tricky feet to beat defenders in isolated positions out wide. For many footballers, being able to operate with both feet is one of the greatest strengths, and this is the case for Said El Mala. Additionally, Said El Mala has incredible game intelligence, with an advanced understanding of when to press, and excellent decision-making when driving with the ball.
