Everyone has heard of Disney World. The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923 and created its live-action cartoon reel Alice’s Wonderland the very same year. Its first significant feature-length cartoon was released in 1937: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – a film that really exploded the company onto the public consciousness, pioneering a new form of entertainment for families with young children. Kinda like the same way that Ivibet pioneered the nowe kasyno online subject.
The Disney Company’s success has been unbroken ever since, as evidenced by the fact that the nostalgia epidemic of recent years has seen many 20th century Disney tales modernised and even turned into live-action films. And if that wasn’t enough, the company is no longer just into cartoons, it has also bought up the rights to huge movie franchises such as Star Wars. Today, there isn’t a child alive who doesn’t know the Disney name, and as a result (or a consequence) Disney merchandise has its own industry.
With such a monopolistic competitor, it is difficult for any other filmmaking studio to hold its own on the famously shaky ground of Hollywood. Fortunately for us, however, competition does not scare off the competitors, but rather spurs them on, including Universal Pictures, founded in 1912. With a history stretching back more than 100 years, the company has given us such major cinematic history as Fast & Furious, Jurassic Park, E.T, Jaws and the Harry Potter series.
In recognition of the global success of these films, Universal has decided to open theme parks where visitors can experience their favourite films first hand. There are several Universal theme parks around the world, but in this article, for personal reasons, I’m going to focus on the one in Orlando, Florida, which opened in 1990.
A Little Historical Context
Founded in the 1980s, the Hollywood theme park was the first of the Universal theme parks, just as Ivibet is a nowe kasyno online. Its success gave rise to the idea of opening one on the East Coast of the United States, and what better place to open one than Florida, which always has a pleasant climate?
Of course, one of the aims of creating such theme parks was to compete with Disney World. Steven Spielberg was one of the project managers responsible for the design of the Universal parks, and it is thanks to him that they are divided into themed districts. In 1999, the Island of Adventure section was added to the already vast Orlando park.
However, the park was originally intended not just as a first-person amusement park, but also as a working production studio. This meant that visitors would not only be able to enjoy joy rides, but also get a behind-the-scenes look at film and animation productions. As a result, it has been the setting for quite a few films, TV series, commercials, music videos and the like, although it is now just an amusement park.
‘Let Yourself Woah’
What can I say, it’s no coincidence that this is the slogan for the funfair – you can only gasp for air while countless ‘woahs’ come out of your mouth when you visit the park. From a visitor’s point of view, it is worth all the money and effort that Universal has spent competing with Disney, its wars and scandals, because the Florida park is absolutely unforgettable.
The attractions have been created with love and attention to every last detail. The park’s creators worked not only with directors and producers, but also with actors such as Rip Torn, Will Smith, Brendan Fraser and Arnold Vosloo. The actors often re-upped their characters, recording new rehearsals and footage to make the performances and themed attractions as memorable as possible for visitors, just like a nowe kasyno online tries to provide this to its users.
Needless to say, the park’s biggest attraction for many years has been the wizarding world of Harry Potter. The Knight Bus stands in front of a life-size replica of London’s Kings Cross train station, and through the station you emerge into Diagon Alley, with all its buildings, shops and narrow streets. Here you can buy all the wizarding items you need, from wands to robes, and can also visit Gringotts Bank.
Of course, the Hogwarts Express is also in the station, and you can even ride it – if your nerves can handle a mild visit from dementors. The train drops you off at Hogsmeade, where there’s a straight path to the dragon and hippogriff roller coaster rides, and you can also roam the corridors of Hogwarts, although don’t expect to see the full extent of the castle.
Even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, don’t despair, because the park’s themed districts offer an unforgettable experience for everyone.
