Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos has personally announced his collaboration with Korean Web3 company PUNKVISM through his official social media account, sharing the news directly with fans around the world.
PUNKVISM, a Web3-based global IP branding company led by CEO Hyunki Hwang, announced on June 2 that it has signed an official global limited-edition agreement with Roberto Carlos, one of the greatest left backs in football history and a legendary figure from the golden eras of Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.
The project has gained significant attention from global football fans and the digital asset industry, as Roberto Carlos personally uploaded a post about the collaboration on his official Instagram account. In the post, Carlos wrote, “Starting a new journey. With PUNKVISM, in Korea,” expressing strong anticipation for the partnership.
It is considered a rare case for a global sports icon to directly mention a Korean project by name and announce the partnership to an international audience. The move is being viewed as a strong signal of trust between both parties and a clear indication of the project’s global significance.
Roberto Carlos is a legendary figure who left a lasting impact on football fans worldwide. He is widely remembered for his iconic “UFO free kick” against France in 1997, as well as his key role in Brazil’s victory at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan.
The upcoming limited edition, built around Roberto Carlos’ exclusive IP, is designed to merge physical collectibles with digital assets. Every purchaser will receive a TCG-grade collectible card for authenticity and preservation purposes. A limited number of these cards will include Roberto Carlos’ handwritten signature, while the remaining cards will be issued as standard cards.
Each card will also be equipped with an NFC authentication chip, allowing users to verify authenticity instantly by simply tapping the card with a smartphone. The standard package will also include limited-edition stickers, keyrings, and photocards.
Premium items will also be randomly included in selected packages. These items include football boots and jerseys personally signed by Roberto Carlos, as well as NFC-authenticated limited-edition art toys, offering premium collectible appeal for fans and collectors worldwide.
The edition also includes clear on-chain digital utility. Upon purchase, buyers will receive a Roberto Carlos game item as an NFT in their digital wallet. The item can be used as a character skin or weapon in Arena, PUNKVISM’s proprietary Web3 game, as well as in future games connected to the broader PUNKVISM ecosystem. It is also designed with a technical structure that allows the asset to remain tied to the user’s personal wallet, regardless of platform operations.
Hyunki Hwang, CEO of PUNKVISM, said, “This project has been carefully prepared for the global stage, as shown by Roberto Carlos personally announcing the partnership through his official social media account. By combining the official license of a global mega IP, a robust authenticity verification structure, and digital assets protected through wallet-based ownership, we believe this limited edition will become a major global milestone that introduces a new fan experience for the Web3 era.”
Further details about the limited edition, including the official sales schedule, total supply, pricing, and NFC authentication demonstration videos, will be released sequentially through PUNKVISM’s official channels.
