PUNKVISM is officially launching a large-scale project with the Ansan City Football Association to support the global expansion of Korean youth football.
PUNKVISM and the Ansan City Football Association announced that they will jointly host and organize the 2026 PUNKVISM Cup Ansan City Football Association President’s National Youth Football Tournament, through which they will conduct a selection program for a Korean youth football global project. PUNKVISM will serve as the sole sponsor of the tournament, while the Ansan City Football Association will oversee the professional operation of the event.
Kim Young-chan, Senior Vice President of the Ansan City Football Association, who will be responsible for tournament operations, said, “With PUNKVISM’s full support, we will do our utmost to develop a global-level youth football industry that has yet to be fully established in Korea.”
One of the most notable features of the selection project is the direct participation of former Brazilian national team legends as advisory judges. A world-class judging panel, rarely seen in domestic youth tournaments, will evaluate the skills of young Korean prospects in Ansan. The initiative is expected to serve as a meaningful step toward elevating a regional youth tournament to a global standard.
The formation of the Brazilian judging panel was made possible through PUNKVISM’s established local network in Brazil. PUNKVISM CEO Hyunki Hwang has previously visited the Brazilian presidential palace, helping lay the groundwork for private-sector exchange between Korea and Brazil. He has also helped connect both countries by inviting a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ceará and a director from Brazil’s cultural sector to Korea, arranging meetings with Busan City, Seongnam City, and National Assembly member Cho Seung-rae. In addition, Hwang has direct ties to the Brazilian football community, including having shared the stage with Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho in Switzerland. This proven network has now been applied to the formation of the judging panel for the Ansan youth tournament.
The tournament will select final Korean youth representatives through a multi-stage evaluation process involving youth players from across the country. By fully covering the costs associated with the selection process, PUNKVISM aims to create an environment where young players can demonstrate their abilities without financial burden. The final selected youth squad will have the opportunity to engage directly with youth teams from leading football nations, including Brazil, Portugal, and England.
Beyond serving as an offline tournament, the project is also set to evolve into global content through PUNKVISM’s official YouTube channel. PUNKVISM plans to produce video content covering the full tournament process, evaluation scenes involving the Brazilian legend advisory judges, and the overseas journey of the final selected players. In this way, a youth tournament that begins in Ansan will be transformed through PUNKVISM’s YouTube channel into a global K-youth football content IP for audiences around the world. The initiative is expected to help participating players naturally showcase their talent both domestically and internationally, while positioning Ansan as a hub city for youth football on the global stage.
“The core goal of this project is to provide young players with a practical opportunity to prove their potential on the global stage,” said Hyunki Hwang, CEO of PUNKVISM. “Through our collaboration with the Ansan City Football Association, we aim to broaden the foundation of Korean youth football and transform the entire tournament process into content through PUNKVISM’s YouTube channel, ultimately developing it into a global IP that can attract worldwide attention.”
Beginning with the 2026 tournament, PUNKVISM and the Ansan City Football Association plan to build a long-term partnership aimed at contributing to the development of Korea’s youth football infrastructure. Further details, including the tournament schedule and application process, will be announced through the official channels of PUNKVISM and the Ansan City Football Association in due course.
