Not so long ago, the Meta company introduced a new social network – Threads. The first users have already managed to try out the novelty. More than 100 million users have already become full-fledged social network users. In addition to positive evaluations, there were complaints, especially about the lack of a ribbon. Therefore, the company’s representatives announced a new update, fulfilling customers’ desires.
Threads – opportunities and potentially more profitable than competitors

The opening of Threads made a sensation, breaking the record set by ChatGPT in terms of downloads. The reasons could be the features that have become key:

Specialists noted that Threads tries to use the maximum of the evaluated functions of social networks, trying to create something average but “their own”.
Among the evident disadvantages is the lack of a profile deletion function. If you try, there is also a risk of removing your Instagram account. Such a thing would want few users. Many hope that, in time, the problem will be solved.
Will the updates solve the problems, and is Threads a win for Meta?
The developers have expressed plans to implement a particular ActivityPub protocol. There extended programming codes of Mastodon, WordPress or Reddit-alternative Lemmy are included. Such an extension would make the social network a conditional hub for many other platforms. Experts fear that such a decision is too radical and potentially poses a significant challenge to other companies. From that, some promised features – like ActivityPub – work with limitations.
The new update added optimization to the social network and tweaked the feed. Users evaluated such a thing positively because they were listened to. More and more technologies will be implemented in Threads, affecting competitors’ work.
The social network is growing in popularity. As of today, it has gained a fifth of Twitter’s audience. If this continues, the app will become the most popular and successful in recent years. Experts say waiting and seeing if Meta delivers on its promises is essential. If the social network does work with most platforms, fixes minor bugs and can retain its audience, it is guaranteed success for years to come.
