They are then more likely to do the same in future if they witness harmful attitudes or behaviours. And the more we stop it, the less prevalent it should become.

There are many organisations you can recommend for support, including the police, the National Domestic Abuse helpline, Women’s Aid and Victim Support.

These knowledgeable and friendly professionals can help victims feel safe by taking legal action to separate them from their abuser, protect their assets and ensure the saftey of any children involved.
