On November 18, 2025, the 32nd International Power Equipment and Technology Exhibition (EP Shanghai 2025) grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. As the largest and most influential brand exhibition in China’s power industry, this year’s exhibition brought together 2,000 well-known domestic and foreign companies, covering an exhibition area of 86,000 square meters, and attracting more than 70,000 professional visitors. SUNSHINE made a grand appearance with its independently developed new generation MX602K series busbar cutting machine. With its core advantages of “high precision, high automation, and high stability”, it became the focus of the exhibition, providing a brand-new solution for busbar processing challenges in fields such as new energy vehicles and smart grids.
Currently, with the accelerated construction of smart grids and the booming development of the new energy vehicle industry in my country, the processing quality of busbars, as the “blood vessels” of electrical equipment, directly determines the stability and safety of the power system. According to the “2025-2029 China Busbar Processing Machine Industry Market In-Depth Analysis and Investment Strategy Planning Report,” the market size of busbar processing machines in China reached 4.26 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%. However, traditional busbar processing equipment generally suffers from pain points such as large precision errors, low automation levels, and slow after-sales response. “When we used equipment to process 10mm thick copper busbars, the bending angle error often exceeded ±1.5 degrees, causing the busbars to fail to fit the switchgear contacts. The daily loss due to rework of defective products reached tens of thousands of yuan,” a purchasing manager from a high-voltage electrical appliance company in Nanjing frankly stated during an exchange at the exhibition. This is a common problem for many electrical manufacturing companies.
The intelligent busbar cutting machine showcased by SUNSHINE is a new generation product developed to address industry pain points. According to Mr. Li, SUNSHINE’s Technical Director, the equipment integrates 12 independently developed patented technologies, with core performance indicators surpassing industry standards across the board. In terms of precision control, the equipment employs a dual positioning system of a Panasonic servo motor and a Heidenhain encoder, along with a THK linear guide, controlling the punching and shearing accuracy within ±0.1mm and the bending angle error to no more than ±0.3 degrees, far exceeding the ±0.3mm precision limit of traditional equipment. “For every 0.1mm reduction in busbar processing precision, the contact resistance of electrical equipment can be reduced by 5%, and its service life extended by 10%,” Mr. Li emphasized, citing data from the “Technical Specification for Busbar Processing of Electrical Equipment” (GB/T 5585.1-2019). He stressed that this breakthrough in precision will directly improve the operational reliability of terminal power equipment.
Automation upgrades are another major highlight of this equipment. Addressing the issues of traditional equipment relying on manual positioning and low production efficiency, the SUNSHINE busbar cutting machine is equipped with a self-developed “Intelligent CNC System V2.0,” integrating a six-position rotary punching technology and a double-column, double-blade shearing structure. The six-position rotary table can clamp six different molds at once, supporting the processing of various shapes such as round and square holes, reducing mold change time from 5-10 minutes in traditional equipment to less than 10 seconds. The double-column, double-blade design ensures uniform shearing force transmission, resulting in a smooth, burr-free cut and completely eliminating the need for secondary grinding. “The equipment can process 30-50 copper busbars per hour, which is more than five times the efficiency of manual operation,” a staff member demonstrated in real time. A 12mm thick copper busbar completes the entire punching, shearing, and bending process in just 90 seconds, attracting onlookers who took many photos.
In terms of intelligence and service support, the equipment also excels. Through its built-in IoT module, the device can achieve 24-hour remote status monitoring, providing real-time warnings of potential faults such as spindle temperature and guide rail wear. Combined with SUNSHINE’s six after-sales service centers nationwide, it can achieve an ultra-fast response time of “1 hour locally, 24 hours elsewhere,” far exceeding the industry average response time of over 48 hours. “We promise a two-year warranty on core components and lifetime free technical consultation, completely eliminating customers’ worries,” said Mr. Wang, Sales Director of SUNSHINE, at the product launch. He added that this integrated “equipment + service” solution has already gained high recognition from large enterprises such as State Grid and China Southern Power Grid.
At the exhibition, a purchasing team from a large power plant in Chengdu reached a preliminary cooperation agreement with SUNSHINE on the spot. “Our CNC busbar machine needs to operate continuously for 24 hours, so equipment stability and after-sales response are crucial,” said the head of the purchasing team. He added that SUNSHINE’s 99.5% stability rate (the industry average is 95%) and remote early warning function are exactly what they urgently need. Furthermore, a new energy vehicle parts company from Tesla’s supply chain also showed strong interest in the equipment. Their representative stated, “The defect rate of busbar connectors processed by the equipment can be controlled within 1%, fully meeting our supplier standards.”
As a high-tech enterprise founded in 2023, SUNSHINE has always focused on in-depth research and development. In recent years, it has carried out industry-university-research cooperation with Changsha University of Science and Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology, accumulating rich technological achievements in the field of intelligent power equipment. The busbar cutting machine showcased at the exhibition is the culmination of the company’s continuous innovation in response to market demands. “In the future, we will continue to increase our R&D investment and plan to launch a laser busbar processing machine with an accuracy of ±0.01mm to meet the needs of the high-end semiconductor industry,” revealed General Manager Wang.
EP Shanghai 2025 was held concurrently with the Shanghai International Energy Storage Technology and Application Exhibition, focusing on opportunities for the development of new energy storage technologies. The debut of SUNSHINE’s busbar cutting machine not only provided efficient solutions for power equipment manufacturers but also offered technical support for busbar processing in energy storage systems, contributing to the high-quality development of the power industry under the “dual carbon” goals. The exhibition will run until November 20th. SUNSHINE has set up a dedicated experience area at booth 3201 in Hall N3, welcoming industry colleagues to visit and exchange ideas.
