These could include fraud prevention for financial transactions or adjusting video quality dynamically based on device status for streaming services.
The newly formed company will deliver network APIs to a vast ecosystem of developer platforms, including hyperscalers, Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) providers, System Integrators (SIs), and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). The offering will be built on CAMARA APIs, an open-source initiative led by the GSMA and the Linux Foundation. Both Vonage and Google Cloud will collaborate with the venture, offering their developer networks and partnerships. Shareholders in the venture will contribute funding and vital resources, such as Ericsson’s platform, telecom industry expertise, and established relationships with global telecom operators, alongside their developer community insights and network APIs.

The transaction is expected to close in early 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other standard conditions. Once completed, Ericsson will own 50% of the new venture, with the remaining 50% shared among the telecom operators.
