The game itself goes by many different names around the world – in the United Kingdom and America, it’s known as Bingo, but in India Bingo is known as Tambola. In Quebec it’s known as Kinzo. China refers to the game as Daduile. In Mexico, there’s a variation of Bingo called Loteria. Many countries found within Europe call Bingo Tombola.

In the UK and throughout many places within Europe, Bingo cards are actually referred to as Bingo tickets. When purchasing a Bingo ticket within a Bingo Hall, you can’t buy a single ticket, instead, you’re offered a strip of multiple tickets instead, for the next few games ahead.
- The Scots take top spot in the United Kingdom
In the United Kingdom, Scotland is home to the biggest number of Bingo enthusiasts than anywhere else across the land, with one in five Scots playing Bingo on a regular basis.
- Bingo goes online!
In 2001, the first website for online Bingo was launched. As expected, it became an instant success and as they say, the rest is history – now players can access a game of Bingo from anywhere around the world, on multiple websites, any time of day they want.
- A record-breaking game of Bingo in New York City
The largest Bingo game to be played in person, took place in New York City, with 60,000 players ready with the daubers. The event attracted so many players, the venue actually had to turn away over 10,000 players as they had reached full capacity and couldn’t fit anymore in!
