The Ihezie Foundation, a UK book relief charity, has donated over 1.5 million books to schools in the UK and Africa. Partnering with Afrinvest, a wealth advisor firm in West Africa, over 80,000 textbooks were provided to schools in Nigeria.
The Ihezie Foundation charity, based in Milton Keynes, shipped 80,000 textbooks to schools and students in Enugu State, Nigeria. The Ihezie Foundation was pleased to partner with (local philanthropist) Ike Chioke of Afrinvest to make the donation possible. The Obioma Central School in Enugu State Nigeria was the main beneficiary of the books along with many other surrounding primary, secondary schools and universities, who will also receive thousands of educational books for their libraries.
The Obioma Central School was established in 1941, as one of the early educational institutions in the region, which helped to advance the course of numeracy, literacy and social development of many children in the region. The Ihezie Foundation was delighted to support the continued advancement of students in the school through the book donation.
The Ihezie Foundation was set up to work with UK book retailers and resellers to distribute books to schools across Africa and the UK to improve the adoption of reading and literacy rates for children growing up in deprived areas across the UK and Africa,
