Currently, the business boasts the title of being the only carbon neutral plus bed maker in the UK. Their new product range is set to add to their sustainability accolades, partnering with British wool farmers to offer an authentic product that proudly reflects their hard work.
Championing British wool manufacturers
The British wool industry dates all the way back to the stone-age, however it wasn’t until the Industrial Revolution that its significance grew. New technology speeded up the weaving and spinning process, making wool the backbone, and driving force of the economy.
Working with British wool farmers to create an authentic and handmade mattress range, Amanda Thompson, Founder of Wrought and Brass Bed Co, believes it’s time recognise the industry’s evolution:

Although wool products in Britain are often marketed as a sustainable and affordable option, often consumers are misled. Greenwashing, the practice of falsely marketing a company or organisation to appear ecologically and environmentally friendly, continues to impact the wool industry. Working cooperatively with British farmers throughout the process of sourcing the sheep, grading and manufacturing the wool, Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company hope their transparency will encourage people to question how the materials in their household are sourced.
